I believe that everyone deserves to...

...feel beautiful and confident, and I strive to achieve that through my work as a stylist.

I am lucky to be born and raised in this paradise we call home - Honolulu, Hawaiʻi.

Dimensional color, blonding, and fashion color are my specialties. I love adding depth and movement to a person's hair to create a customized look that suits each individual as well as unleash my creativity and create unique, vibrant looks that make a statement. Eyelash extensions is another area I am passionate about and the instant transformation that lash extensions provide.

I am passionate about my work as a stylist because it allows me to make a positive impact on people's lives. I love seeing the boost in confidence that my clients experience after a session with me. It's truly rewarding to be able to bring their vision to life and make them feel beautiful inside and out.

Carly Sai, Luna

Carly Sai started as a receptionist at JPS Dressers in 1995. JPS was a salon owned and operated by her mother, Joannie Rossiter, a Native Hawaiian business owner who started JPS through the entrepreneurial program offered by Alu Like. After 10 years of business, Joannie opened Paul Mitchell the School Honolulu in 2005 and for 15 years, Carly worked her way through all of the company’s departments: Sales, Education, and Operations.

In 2018 Carly became the Director of the school and structured a curriculum during covid that allowed the school to thrive. On September 30, 2023, Joannie retired as the school owner, closing the doors to Paul Mitchell The School Honolulu. Carly re-envisioned the  space as Ulupono Salon and Spa, a professional salon and spa and training facility for future generations of beauty professionals.

Throughout her career Carly has become a certified Educator for Paul Mitchell the Schools and has also attended The Five Seeds of Leadership by local business consultant Glenn Furuya. Carly’s passion for education and growing businesses has led to the opening of a new generation of salons and spas for the local people of Hawai’i.

Erik Taitano-Ortiz, Alaka`i of Sales

Erik first entered the beauty and wellness industry shortly after high school in 2003 where he worked as a massage therapist at Mandara Spa in his home island of Guam. A few years later, he relocated to O`ahu learning new areas of the spa business as a Spa Coordinator and Spa Supervisor, while also obtaining his Hawai`i Massage License. Erik held a steady base of massage clientele, learning different modalities along the way and gaining experience in the Chiropractic clinical setting.

Eventually, he stepped away from the massage industry to focus on expanding his education, earning his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology at the University of Guam, and then his Masters of Science in Counseling Psychology at Chaminade University. Unable to stay away from the beauty and wellness industry, Erik assisted with salon operations at Ryanjacobie in Downtown Honolulu, obtained his license as a barber, and worked at Paul Mitchell The School Honolulu over the last 9 years as a Future Professional Advisor, Admissions Advisor, Enrollment Leader, and Financial Services Leader.

Toni Kincaid, Alaka`i of Education

Toni is a homegrown alum of Paul Mitchell The School Honolulu, graduating in 2022 and becoming licensed in Hawai`i early 2023. Her experience in beauty and education stretches long before that, however.

Currently, Toni resides in Australia, where she is working towards her Masters in Religion and is leading our Haumana (apprentices) through their theory education and fulfilling the state board requirements to obtain licensure in their chosen field of the beauty industry.
